SUVI MEDIA -project
Electronic media library of Suupohja area, IPTV-channel and Internet TV project
The aim is to create an electronic media library, local IPTV-channel and Internet TV in the region of Suupohja in Finland. Media portal combined with its own IPTV-channel serves local people, media education and different kind of organizations. Project amplifies entrepreneurship in the field of media by creating new business models. Project also exploits the possibilities of new technologies, for example open access network. Anyone who is interested in producing content is welcome to join the project. The project is also directed to municipalities and their organizations.
The targets are
- to create a local media library and a pilot channel
- to offer a publishing platform for high-quality content made by local habitants
- to preserve and highlight local culture
- testing and processing new distribution and techniques
- to establish an administrator for action
- data transfer to Suupohja area, open access to information
- cooperation between different actors and other regions
To project also aims to
- promote cultural activities and reinforce the identity of local people
- help the participants in networking and increase knowledge and innovation
- promote technology transferring
- gain cooperation between educational institutes, development organizations, business and third sector
- promote local digimedia service production and product development
The project is operated by Federation of Municipalities for Economic Development in Suupohja region and funded by Leader group Suupohja Development Association
SUVI MEDIA -project works alongside with SUVI Media training project.
